Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has received a delegation led by co-chair of Expert Group on Foreign Affairs at the European People`s Party, Italian former FM Franco Frattini.

They praised the relations between Azerbaijan and the European Union. They stressed the importance of President Ilham Aliyev`s visit to Brussels and hailed the Azerbaijani leader`s talks with the EU leadership as effective.

They noted the significance of expanding the cooperation between Yeni Azerbaijan Party and the European People`s Party.

They expressed confidence that Franco Frattini`s visit would contribute to expanding this cooperation.
They also noted that biased approach to development processes in Azerbaijan taken by some European institutions, including some of the representatives of the European People`s Party had not contributed to expanding the cooperation.
